What are your thoughts on aging?
What a significant moment this is—a true rite of passage! There's a deep sense of accomplishment in reaching such an important milestone in my life. What I've discovered at this stage is an incredible feeling of empowerment and inner peace. After facing and overcoming life's adversities and challenges, there comes a moment when you realize you've made it to the other side. To my great surprise, something I hadn't anticipated was that these very challenges I conquered brought forth a new, empowered version of myself. Unscathed, undamaged, and undefeated. A feeling of coming home to one's true self, and with this comes an inner sense of 'true beauty' that surpasses and transcends any physical appearance—a lasting, eternal beauty that resides at the very core of who we are - that time, years, or age can never diminish.
Younger women, might think that it’s scary getting older. What wonderful things can women look forward to at your age?
As we grow older, we tend to gain a stronger sense of confidence and self-assurance. Over time, we become more at ease with who we are and less influenced by the opinions of others. This journey often brings about greater emotional resilience, helping us to handle life's challenges with more grace. With age comes wisdom and a lot of women establish healthier boundaries, which can lead to more meaningful relationships, deeper connections, and a more satisfying life overall.

I believe it’s incredibly important for women to regularly carve out some "me time." This practice offers numerous benefits, not only for ourselves but also for those around us—family, friends, neighbors, and the broader community. Whether it’s gardening, writing, cooking, engaging in other creative pursuits, or simply enjoying nature, dedicating time to these activities is essential for our overall well-being. It rejuvenates, restores, and brings balance to our lives, ultimately enhancing our physical, emotional, and mental health.
For me, my happy place and comfort zone is reading. I’m a self-proclaimed bookworm! An avid reader with a love for books! Whether it's autobiographies, true stories, fiction, or mystery novels written a hundred years ago, I escape, lose myself, and all track of time (in the best way!) when reading a great book. Whatever your passion is that brings you joy, harmony, and inspiration, don’t delay—seize the moment and enjoy your life now. There's no time like the present!
Share one experience or piece of advice that would lift other women up and empower them.
When I turned forty-three, I had just gone through a divorce and was navigating life as a newly single woman. Anyone who's faced a similar situation knows it can be incredibly challenging. Suddenly, I found myself overwhelmed with worries about everything. However, over time, I began to regain my balance. Through self-reflection, prayer, and frequent check-ins with myself, I discovered a sense of peace and clarity that empowered me to keep moving forward. Eventually, I regained my confidence. Trusting myself has always helped me overcome adversity and step into a brighter future and new beginnings.
What is your definition of success?
For me, success is not about financial abundance, flashy cars, luxurious homes, or extravagant vacations. While these things may be thrilling and exciting, they are temporary and fleeting. True success lies in the deep and meaningful bonds we form with loved ones who bless and enrich our lives, and in the love we receive from those who support us through our darkest times.
Success is found in the love and loyalty of those who stand by us through thick and thin. It’s about the lessons we learn that offer new perspectives and insights, leading to a greater sense of self-love and acceptance. Success is earning the respect of those who challenge us to become better versions of ourselves. It involves accepting our past, forgiving ourselves and others, and recognizing that we are worthy and enough just as we are.
Ultimately, true success is not measured by what we aspire to be or achieve but by who we have become in the process.
