2024 ~ 40 Over 40

Pearls of Wisdom

MARISA CABO

What are your thoughts on aging?

I would hear a bunch of comments from others that when turning 35 your metabolism and body slows down. I didn't want to believe any statements that people would discuss about aging, so I ignored the fact until I reached 40. Compared to being thirty-five climbing up to forty plus is a different story.

Aging is very interesting and I'm not scared, but question it. The experience my body is going through from head to toe is changing. I was in denial about accepting gray hairs that appeared every day.

I am also passionate about working out and keeping my body toned. I experienced these past months that I am not a kid that can get injured and jump back on my wheels again. I am learning to embrace aging and to listen to my body.

I am the type of person who keeps busy and eager to keep going.

How is your age group relevant?

My age group is relevant by experience and knowledgeable with skills.  The beauty in us can be powerful in many ways if we embrace it.

Younger women, might think that it's scary getting older. What wonderful things can women look forward to at your age?

We still can go out there and experience being young in many ways. Like this photo project, keeping healthy with supplements, keeping fit, staying in fashion, and never stop loving yourself no matter how your age is climbing.

Who inspired you as a little girl? Who inspires you now?

My Mom has inspired me, she was so courageous!  She found ways to create, protect, and care for her four children.  She still inspires me by the way she makes people laugh and have a good time.

What was your greatest challenge and how did you overcome it?

My greatest challenge is transforming my old ways into a new me.  I overcame it by accepting an invitation to a PSI seminar class. I've been improving my self-development.
