What personality trait do you love most about yourself?

I think I've learned over the years that age comes with experience and appreciation for yourself. One of the things that I appreciate about myself is that I'm up for adventure no matter what.  When something is presented, I try to make it a rule of thumb to go for the yes first before saying no. I can always backtrack it. Having the ability to look for spontaneity, I really appreciate that in other people, and so I try to be as spontaneous as possible because I think it leaves the door open for a lot more experiences that you might not have had the opportunity to have had you responded initially with a no.

When was the last time you belly laughed?

I love this question because I don’t believe that people really appreciate  a good belly laugh. I believe it is the litmus test for how long a relationship is going to last. I remember when my husband did it for the first time, it was incredible. He’s a pretty serious person, so to see him belly laugh was probably one of the biggest reasons that I fell in love with him.

share an experience or piece of advice that would lift other women up and empower them.

I think a piece of advice that I learned in my 30s, that I needed to give myself room to change my mind. I think a lot of times women, we think we have to double down on our decisions and think that “this is my opinion, and I have to follow through with it for the rest of my life!” and I feel like that's a heavy weight to carry. thinking back on my 20s,  that I'll never be a stay -at -home mom, and then, lo and behold, when I had my daughter and I was in a different place, it really helped to be able to give myself that permission to say, maybe I've changed my mind. Maybe, in fact, being home with my daughter is now important to me, and I'll make some other changes in my life, and I'll be okay with that.

I think that is the permission I love to grant to everybody, every woman especially, that you never know what the next week is gonna bring, the next month. Being able to change your mind and giving yourself that permission is super empowering. And I wish that for all women. For  everybody, but all women in particular.
